Most Australian outdoor areas are not uncomfortable all day — they are uncomfortable for a few hours. The sun swings around, the pavers hold the heat, the tabletop gets too hot to lean on, and everyone drifts back inside through the sliding door. The furniture stays out there unused, slowly fading, and the best part of the house goes to waste for the exact hours you bought it for.
Under micro-ventilated HDPE the glare is cut and the air keeps moving. Heat coming off the paving passes up through the weave instead of gathering underneath, which is the difference between shade that feels stuffy and shade you can sit in at three in the afternoon. It will not keep you dry in a downpour — the fabric breathes, so water eventually finds its way through — but for the hours that actually push people indoors, it does the job.

This is the open-weave option in the range. The fabric lets air through on purpose, and that single choice changes both how it feels underneath and how it behaves when the wind comes up.
Heat that would sit trapped beneath a coated sail rises out through the weave. Under a mesh sail you get shade with airflow, not shade with a hot ceiling.
A sail that vents does not behave like a wall in a gust. Less force reaches the corners and the posts, which matters if your block is open to the wind.

Two people make the tensioning far easier. Anchoring and tension are the two things that decide whether a sail lasts — take your time on those and the rest is straightforward.
Measure between your fixing points, then allow 30 to 40 cm at every corner for shackles, turnbuckles and rope. Choose the sail size that leaves you that working gap.
Rafters, solid masonry, or posts set in concrete. Never gutters, fascia boards, lattice or fence palings — none of them will hold a tensioned sail through a windy afternoon.
Set one or two corners clearly lower than the others. That slope keeps water and leaf litter moving off the fabric instead of collecting in the middle of it.
Work corner to corner, a little at a time, until the edges pull straight and the fabric stops shifting in the breeze. A slack sail flaps, and flapping is what wears a sail out.
